Vintage WFL WWII Era 15x12 snare drum, ready to play
Ready to play, a great drum for a beginner! This 15x12 drum is a reconditioned era WWII era WFL snare, with the uncommon WFL peel-and-stick badge made of very thin aluminum and the “U.S.” marking. The thin badge and the wooden strainer mount were designed to accommodate government regulation on the use of metal in musical instruments during those war years. We have assembled this drum with skin heads in keeping with its vintage character, but the shell will accommodate modern synthetic heads if you decide to switch them out.
The marks on the shell are cosmetic only, these scratches were caused by the original metal-topped ears being pushed in when the drum was tensioned for play. The price of the drum reflects the condition of the shell finish.
With original counterhoops, mahogany ply shell, snare strainer and gut,'and D ring carry; we’ve added a new standard calfskin batter head, new basic goatskin snare head, new ears, and new 3/16” hemp rope.
