In 1987, our CT shop made this prototype "concept drum" to show the Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps. The full set we delivered a couple of years later had a few changes, notably to the art, and were 1” shorter than this 17x21 birds-eye maple shell. We’re selling this piece of history “as is”. The shell is a laminated Jasper shell - Jasper shells, best known for the iconic sound of vintage Gretsch drums, were no longer available by the early 2000s. This drum was taken to shows and conventions as a sample drum. There is wear to the finish, to the ears, and one slightly bent leg.I've tried to get detail in the photos but can provide more photos as needed.
